Need Glasses Tips for Healthy Eyes
10-25-11

Healthy eyes do not come naturally - they require work and effort. Exercise, proper care and excellent nutrition are the three key points to ensuring the health and well-being of your optical assets.Your lifestyle, your nutrition and your beauty care regime all affect the health of your eyes and help to keep them seeing clearly, without any problems, for longer. So, let break down the important factors to think about: exercise, care and nutrition and break them down accordingly. Exercise: Modern day living dictates that we spend hours in front of computer, television and telephone screens; straining our eyes as we focus on small letters against a glare.Any optical specialist will tell you that you should move away from the screen and rest your eyes at least every half hour to 45 minutes. A great exercise is to move away from the screen and focus on one spot for five seconds and then to move your eyes away and focus on a completely different area for another five seconds. Then move your eyes to another area and rest them for a few minutes before going back to work. For those with lazy eye (amblyopia), they can place a patch over their good eye and then read something, thereby forcing the bad eye to work harder. This should be started with a routine of five minutes once a day and then increased to five minutes twice a day, until the eye is strong enough for five minutes three times a day.To work on your eyelids and restore the muscles, put your finger over your eyebrow and pull up the skin and then open and close the eye and hold for a count of six.Nutrition? You are what you eat and what you eat will determine how well you see.glasogon ,carrots, leafy green vegetables, walnuts, pecans, almonds, broccoli, liver, sweet potatoes, mangoes, cantaloupe, dried apricots, milk, egg yolks and mozzarella cheese are just a few on the list and will fill your body with the vitamins and nutrients needed to stave off disease and infection.Care: Firstly, your eyes are fragile and therefore, if you happen to be someone who works in a dusty profession or one which requires the wearing of safety goggles; take this as the law and do not break it! If you do not work in that profession but you are planning to do something in a dusty area, underwater, or near an area dangerous for one eyes, ensure to wear safety glasses. This rule also applies when going out into the sun. Dangerous UVA and UVB rays affect ones eyesight and may cause cancer. If youe looking to buy glasses, ensure to buy them with a special tint to ensure that when in the sun, they darken to protect your eyes. Better yet, buy separate prescription sunglasses that you can wear in the sun.Parents can protect their children eyes right from the start by ensuring to take them for regular eye exams and feeding them the right foods (see below). For adults, regular eye exams are essential in order to update your eyeglasses prescription. These checks also serve to check for more serious problems such as glaucoma or cataracts, which a good optometrist or eye doctor will pick up immediately.
